Hope you don't mind me asking but do you know the name for the one asking for food, would it be a Yellow Ogon? And the other two you have there look just like the Koi I have. We've had them about 12 years and never known the correct names, except what their pet names
The all white one Koi and the red and white Koi look similar, I haven't got a picture of the all white one here, but he/she is definitely the same, a white version of the yellow one I have in picture 3 and 4.
Cheers.

Hi the big yellow fish is a Chagoi from Cuttlebrook Koi, the red and White fish in your second pic, and in mine are called Kohaku. It looks like the yellow fish you have is slightly metallic? Looks like a yellow Ogon to me, an all white one could be again if metallic a Purachina (Platinum Ogon) a but there are plenty of fellow koi geeks on here that may be more accurate! 12 years and counting is a good age so far, you must be looking after them well. cheers

Agree with you scamp, red and white is s kohaku, yellow one is an ogon and if the white one is the same (metalic) it is a platinum ogon. I love chags gentle greedy giants of any pond

Your Kohaku has lovely deep colours Scamp.
I have always fed Tetra Floating Sticks, the wheatgerm when water is below 10 and the normal floating sticks during the spring and summer, but adding the tetra koi sticks for colour and growth during the peak summer months, can I ask what food you feed your Koi.
The reason behind sticking to to tetra goes back to when we had a smaller pond with just Goldfish and Shubunkins (nearly put what me ole ma calls them 'shubunnies' ).
Its quite a community the Koi, Rudd (only seen in bright sunlight), Orfe, Goldfish, Shunbunkins and Ghost Carp. They've all lived together for the past 11-12 years with some new additions now and then, I suppose having different breeds is the reason we have never found any young.

Hi Benjy
thx. I change foods also during seasons, feeding Saki Hikari multiseason during winter ( I heat to around 14 or so) and then normally the Saki Hikari growth during summer. This year I am trying some SH pure white, that I've bought from another koi keeper, to see if it makes any difference or just spin! Like you I'm brand loyal, and find Saki works for me, and my koi....the choice of foods is huge, all claiming something or other! Yep love goldfish too in the past, but just koi at the mo for me. Cheers
