have my koi got Carp Pox

    Hello Everyone

im almost 12 months in with keeping Koi, this morning ive noticed 2 koi with white/cream lumps on the tail fin, the lump starts on the edge of the tail and moves in by about 5mm
i have read it may be carp pox but wanted to make sure

    ph 7.8
    nitrite 0.2
    ammonia 0.1

    1800 gallon pond

i will try and work out later how to add pictures for you to see/advise

    thanks KPC

A few pictures would help with a diagnosis. Have you the means to scrape some fish to check for parasites with a microscope?.

Hi I will send pics when I get home, I've no microscope but I've had scrapes checked for me last October and was all clear this was just because one koi flashed a few times then stopped was just to see if all was ok which it was

They could have parasites though as a scrape in October isn't relevant now.

Yep, carp pox. Nothing to worry about. Should go away once temps get up, but come back each winter for a few years probably.
