have my koi got Carp Pox
Hello Everyone
im almost 12 months in with keeping Koi, this morning ive noticed 2 koi with white/cream lumps on the tail fin, the lump starts on the edge of the tail and moves in by about 5mm
i have read it may be carp pox but wanted to make sure
ph 7.8
nitrite 0.2
ammonia 0.1
1800 gallon pond
i will try and work out later how to add pictures for you to see/advise

A few pictures would help with a diagnosis. Have you the means to scrape some fish to check for parasites with a microscope?.

Hi I will send pics when I get home, I've no microscope but I've had scrapes checked for me last October and was all clear this was just because one koi flashed a few times then stopped was just to see if all was ok which it was

sorry im new to this and photos went on without text
you can see the small spot on the tail, i was going to photo the Sanke but this is just the same colour and size

Yep, carp pox. Nothing to worry about. Should go away once temps get up, but come back each winter for a few years probably.
